rabbits

Spotted this gorgeous Dutch rabbit on my walk

magical meaning

Rabbits have long been seen as living symbols of luck, renewal, and the mysterious rhythms of nature.

Unlike many animals, rabbits appear suddenly and vanish just as quickly, slipping between tall grass, burrows, and shadowed places. Because of this, ancient cultures often believed they moved between worlds. In Celtic folklore, hares were thought to be messengers from the Otherworld, protected by the spirits of the land. In East Asian mythology, a rabbit is said to live on the moon, endlessly preparing the elixir of life. And in many Native American traditions, rabbit appears as a clever trickster, surviving not through strength but through wit and quick thinking.

Symbolically, rabbits represent:
• Luck and fortunate timing — opportunities appearing unexpectedly
• Renewal and abundance — the return of life and growth
• Quick intuition — the instinct to move when the moment is right
• Hidden pathways — unseen routes through difficult situations
• Clever survival — intelligence triumphing over force
